Funding for Wapice’s new machine vision laboratory from the Technology Industries of Finland
The aim is to innovate and develop AI-based machine vision solutions tailored to the needs of industry.
Wapice Ltd has received seed funding from the Technology Industries of Finland to establish a new Machine Vision Laboratory. The new laboratory will accelerate rapid prototyping and customer-specific testing, serve as an innovation platform and support continuous learning and development in industrial AI.
This investment complements Wapice’s long history as a developer of industrial software and AI solutions.
“The laboratory will be located at our own facilities and equipped with state-of-the-art camera and lighting technologies, enabling rapid prototyping and customer-specific solution testing. This strategic investment supports the competitiveness of Finnish export companies by enabling faster deployment of intelligent solutions. It will act as an innovation platform that reduces risks, accelerates development, and supports continuous learning—while strengthening Finland’s position in international industrial technology,” says Veli-Pekka Salo, Head of Wapice’s AI unit.
Preparations and equipment acquisitions are currently in progress, with operations set to begin as soon as possible.
