Wapice and Treon have started a cooperation to create a joint product offering for the Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The goal of Wapice and Treon is to make trialing IoT-solutions and deploying large-scale industrial IoT networks easily accessible and cost-efficient.
“We will lower the threshold for our customers to trial and deploy IoT solutions. Integrating Treon hardware products together with the IoT-TICKET solution, customers get ready-to-run IoT application, without expensive software development,” says Markus Mäkelä, IoT-TICKET business development director at Wapice. “Easy-to-use and easy-to-deliver IoT solutions have been Wapice key drivers when developing the IoT-TICKET platform. The platform enables rapid web, mobile, and cloud application development basically for everybody.”
The solutions Wapice and Treon offer together will consist of Treon hardware such as wireless sensors and gateways as well as Wapice IoT-TICKET, a complete Internet of Things tool suite and cloud platform. Those will work seamlessly together. The idea is to deliver the entire application package to the customer without any extra deployment – just activate your product and start using it.
The Perfect Match
“Together, we have the right building blocks. In Treon we bring hardware products to life and scale. Our first IoT products already prove that. Additionally, Wapice has already almost 20 years history on connecting industrial applications to the Internet. IoT-TICKET is designed to build world-class IoT applications with big data analytics and easy-to-use tools. It is the perfect match.” says Joni Korppi, CEO of Treon.
At the first stage, the joint offer is focused on smart buildings and enabling continuous monitoring of indoor environmental quality with measures such as temperature, humidity, ambient noise and air quality. The solution is wireless and easy to deploy. Scalability to global large-scale deployment is built-in into the architecture.
“This is just a starting point for our joint-offering as applications in IoT area are practically unlimited. For example, asset tracking and predictive maintenance are areas we are focused on as well.” Joni Korppi adds.
Treon sensor nodes use Wirepas Mesh to connect to each other and the Treon gateway, which sends the data to the cloud, the IoT-TICKET. Wirepas Mesh is a wireless, low-power IoT network protocol with unprecedented scale, density, flexibility, and reliability.
“Wirepas Mesh is an excellent choice for easily and reliably deploying a large number of battery-operated wireless sensors in smart buildings and industrial grade applications. It’s de-centralized, scaling to as many sensors as needed and continuously optimizing the wireless connectivity for the best performance. We are delighted to see two strong Wirepas ecosystem members join forces to offer a complete solution from hardware to the cloud. Superb example of the Wirepas ecosystem in play “, says Wirepas CEO Teppo Hemiä.
